Filming for season 5 of Amazon's popular series "The Boys" is set to begin soon. As the final season approaches, creator Eric Kripke has spoken about the difficulty of wrapping up the story well. In an interview with Collider, Kripke said, "Filming starts within a week of next Monday. Less than two weeks," revealing that filming for season 5 is scheduled to begin the week of November 25th. Regarding his feelings about the end of the series, he said, "I'm busy right now, so I'm not accepting the reality (of the show's end). But it will hit me midway through the season, and I'll be emotional."
Kripke revealed that "anything can happen" in the upcoming season 5. "There's no obligation to maintain the story or the characters after this season. So nothing and no one is safe. That's really liberating and fun." However, he also said he feels a lot of pressure to conclude the story of The Boys, which has been running for five seasons. "You can count the number of really great finales on one hand. It's hard enough to land one plane, and we're trying to land eight," he said, expressing his anxiety and difficulty in giving each character's story and the complex intertwining plot a proper ending.
"I have a lot of respect and fear for how difficult the job is. I'm not going to go in with confidence. It's like, 'Land this plane, double-check every decision.' Game of Thrones is a great show, and so much work, effort, and skill went into it, and all everyone talks about is the finale. When I think about that, I just feel like, 'Damn!'" By the way, according to Kripke, the cast of The Boys doesn't know how the series will end yet. "The broad arcs of the characters are being communicated, but it's all about the emotional aspects. There are still some parts that we're fine-tuning, but we have a pretty good idea of where they're all going emotionally," he revealed.
