Marvel, for fans there is no doubt: this is the most disappointing scene of the franchise

It is a highly anticipated moment, which however left viewers with a bitter taste in their mouths

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most beloved and followed film sagas of all time, capable of attracting millions of fans to the cinemas with each new release. Part of its success lies in the ability to create a sense of community among fans, who love to discuss and debate the stories and characters. However, despite the shared enthusiasm, some narrative choices continue to generate heated debates: an emblematic example of these controversies concerns the final battle of Avengers: Endgame, one of the most iconic and powerful moments of the entire saga.

The sequence represents the culmination of over a decade of interconnected films, offering an epic and moving closure for many narrative arcs. Tony Stark sacrifices himself to defeat Thanos, concluding his journey from self-centered billionaire to altruistic hero. This death, while painful for fans, was seen as an act consistent with the character's growth, cementing his status as the ultimate hero. Likewise, the return of the heroes who disappeared during the Blip allowed Captain America to finally pronounce the long-awaited "Avengers, Assemble", a moment that fans had been waiting for since the first Avengers film, providing a rush of adrenaline and emotion.

However, not all scenes of this final battle were greeted with the same enthusiasm. The sequence in which all the MCU heroines come together to fight has elicited mixed reactions. For many, it was an inspiring and symbolic moment, a tribute to female power that especially moved younger viewers. Seeing characters like Captain Marvel, Valkyrie, Scarlet Witch and Okoye fighting side by side represented a step forward in terms of female representation in superhero films.

Others, however, criticized the scene for its execution. The way the heroes gathered felt unnatural, considering that many of them had never interacted before and that the battle was chaotic. This lack of cohesion led some viewers to view the scene as more of a symbolic gesture than a truly narrative-driven moment. Furthermore, the absence of Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, amplified the criticism. Natasha, as the MCU’s first female hero and a key member of the Avengers, deserved to be part of that moment, especially considering her recent sacrifice to obtain the Soul Stone. Many fans felt the scene was a missed opportunity, an incomplete homage without the presence of the most iconic female figure in the Marvel Universe.

The heroines’ scene in Endgame remains one of the MCU’s most divisive moments. On the one hand, it is celebrated as a symbol of female empowerment; on the other, it is criticized for its timing and the exclusion of a key character.
