Scarlett Johansson is the absolute protagonist of the new official image Jurassic World: Rebirth: new details about her role revealed! Empire Magazine has published a new official image of Jurassic World: Rebirth, the new chapter in the beloved franchise about dinosaurs. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) from a script by the original screenwriter of Jurassic Park David Koepp, the film will star Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson, Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World: The Dominion, the ecology of the planet has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those that remain exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates similar to those in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures in the tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring life-saving benefits to humanity. Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson will play black ops expert Zora Bennett, tasked with leading an elite team on a top-secret mission to protect the genetic material of the world’s three most massive dinosaurs.

When Zora’s operation intersects with that of a civilian family whose boat expedition was destroyed by marauding aquatic dinosaurs, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face to face with a sinister and shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades. Mahershala Ali will play Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team leader, while Jonathan Bailey will play paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. Director Gareth Edwards, who worked on the script with David Koepp, revealed new details about Scarlett Johansson’s character: “She’s looking for meaning in her life after leaving the army and she gets this opportunity that could mean she never works again. But on that journey, she starts to question the ethics of what they’re doing.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth also stars Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) as Big Pharma salesman Martin Krebs, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) as Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family, Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Reuben’s family, and Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as members of Zora and Krebs’ crew.
